Edward Townsend

Birth: 1874
Regiment: Cpl 131 - 7th Battalion RWF

 

Edward was born in Newtown and lived at 16 Pool Road with his widowed Aunt and Brother. Following 8 years of service he was discharged in April 1916. He was 5'6" tall, had a 36" chest, fair hair, brown eyes and had a very good character. He was described as 'a good, steady reliable man.' In 1939 he was working in Newtown as a labourer in a Tin Yard.
