Frederick Barter Morgan

Birth: 15/11/1896
Death: 1/1/1915
Regiment: 528437 Royal Naval Ordinary Seaman
Killed: 1/1/1915 at sea

 

Frederick was born to Thomas, a draper's clerk & Mary Jane (Pritchard), & lived with 2 brothers at 2 Frankwell Street. He was drowned while HMS Formidable was on exercises & most of those on board lost their lives. This was the 1st British battleship to besunk in WW1. He is commemorated on the Plymouth Naval Memorial, St David' Church & in the Wesleyan Chapel.
