John was born to Edward, an insurance clerk & Hannah (Jones), and had a brother & 3 sisters. The family lived in Ladywell Street. He was badly injured on 10/11/1915 and died that day in hospital & was buried in the Baillieul Communal Cemetery Extension, Nord, France. John is commemorated in St David's Church and the Baptist Chapel.
