Death: 13/08/1915
Regiment: 10661, Lance Corporal 2nd Battalion Hampshire Regiment
Killed: 13/08/1915 at sea when torpedoed

 

He was a son of John, a bricklayer & Sarah Jane (Bowen), and had 3 brothers & a sister. The family lived at 8 Gas Street. He worked as an apprentice at Crofts Shoe Shop then went to London to a similar job. He was award the DCM, and was drowned on the troopship Royal Edward when it was torpedoed in the Aegean Sea & is commemorated on the Helles Memorial, Gallipoli, St. David's Church and the Baptist Chapel.
