William Edward Bellis

Birth: 1871
Regiment: Sapper 2610-1st Battalion SWB

 

William lived with his 2 brothers and mother, Madam Bellis, whom he assisted in her Severn Street shop. He had brown hair, fresh complexion, blue eyes and was 5'10" and was of good character, honest and reliable. William had previously taken an active part in the Boer War before being invalided home, then completed an earlier contract in 1910 but rejoined for the war. He was awarded the British War & Victory medals.
