George Cecil Astley

George was born to Thomas, and Ann of 2 Vaynor Court, Bryn Street and lived with them and his  brother and sister until he married Ethel May of Gelligaer and moved there to 11 James Street, where he worked as a collier. George was 5'3", had a 35" chest, dark hair, brown eyes and a fresh complexion, with a tattoo on his left forearm. He was a Wesleyan. Joining the RAF on 29th April 1918 until the end of the war, George was transferred to the RAF Reserve until he was discharged on 14th December 1918.
